About Our Testing Center

Our office strives to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, neuro testing and clinical research to ensure our patients are given a complete overview of their diagnosis. Once you’ve completed a consultation with one of our specialists, you may require additional testing to rule out or find a possible cause of your symptoms. Our testing center is also used to do routine testing in order to monitor your diagnosis.

An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a safe and pain-free test which records the electrical activity of the brain. Electrodes are placed externally on the head, and the activity is recorded on a computer and interpreted by a neurologist.

An ambulatory EEG may be done if you continue to have seizures after trying various seizure medications or to find additional reasoning for a abnormal routine EEG. The testing can either confirm the diagnosis of epilepsy or find that epilepsy waves are not causing the seizures or seizure like episodes.

Electromyography (EMG) measures muscle response or electrical activity in response to a nerve’s stimulation of the muscle. The test is used to help detect neuromuscular abnormalities. During the test, one or more small needles (also called electrodes) are inserted through the skin into the muscle.
