Carla Santillan, AGANCP-BC

General Neurology, Hospitalist NP

Personally witnessing and experiencing life with neurologic illnesses through the lens of a daughter and granddaughter.

Carla has grown a passion for Neurology and is determined to empathetically serve Neurology patients- Patients who are also someone’s loved one, mother, and child.

Prior to joining the neurohospitalist group at NCD, she served as a general neurology/stroke nurse practitioner at a comprehensive stroke center and Level 4 epilepsy center. In her years as a registered nurse, she impacted the lives of Neurology patients dynamically in various roles such as a neurovascular ICU bedside and charge nurse, rapid response nurse responding to code strokes and interventional radiology RN monitoring patients who undergo procedures such as endovascular recanalization therapy.

Outside of Neurology, Carla and her husband love traveling to the place where the sky touches the sea (aka the beach). 7 countries and over 50 beaches later, they will most likely never grow tired of it.
